The Joint Presidency of the Independent High Electoral Commission in the Afrin Canton issued a statement to the public opinion setting the date for submission of applications for candidacy for the joint presidency of the communes, the date of holding the joint presidential elections for the Communes, in the presence of the Joint Presidency of the Commission Beshfan Murad, The statement read in the office of the Commission by Beshfan Murad, and stated in the text of the statement: “Based on Decree No. (3) – The date of elections – issued by the Constituent Assembly of the Democratic Federation of North Syria and on the requirements of the public interest. As the preparations for holding the joint presidential elections for the Communes in Afrin-Syria are over, the Joint Presidency of the Electoral Commission decides:
Article 1: The date of holding the joint presidential elections for the Communes on 22/9/2017.
Article 2: The date of applying for candidacy for the Co-Presidency of the Communes shall be fixed from 16/8/2017 until 30/8/2017.
Article 3: Examination of candidates’ applications by the High Electoral Commission from 31/8/2017 to 6/9/2017.
Article 4: The names of the candidates for candidacy for the joint presidency of the Communes shall be announced on 7/9/2017.
Article 5: – The objections are submitted by the candidates who are not accepted to the joint presidency of the Communes from 8/9/2017 until 10/9/2017. The Body of Distinction shall consider and decide on the objections submitted by a decision concluded between 11/9/2017 and 13/9/2017.
Article 6: The Electoral Commission organizes a minutes after the end of the objection period, including the names of those who have decided to accept their candidacy for the final presidency of the Communes and announce a table by their names in alphabetical order in the billboard of the offices of the Commission.
Article 7: The candidate has the right to broadcast the proclamations of his candidacy and to clarify his program and objectives and all that relates to his electoral program.
Article 8: The election campaign will be stopped during twenty-four hours before the date set for the elections
