The Cultural Committee of Raqqa Civil Council held a poetry evening in cooperation with the Women’s House in Ain Issa town yesterday evening in the presence of a number of women.
The evening began with a speech by Jalaa Hamzawy, head of the Culture and Art Committee at the Civil Council, in which she said:
“In the ambience of security and safety, the role of culture and art is limited to music, literature and diversiform art. Under authoritarian regimes, culture is based on music as a primary factor in order to distract people from intellectual development and intellectual openness.
From this point of view, we hold this poetry evening, the first of the work of the Culture and Art Committee in cooperation with the Women’s Committee and the Women’s House in Ain Issa”.
Amani El-Swafr, President of the Women’s House in Ain Issa, welcomed all those present and thanked the Committee of Culture and Art in the Civil Council of Raqqa, whose goal was the development and education of women.
And that this evening is the beginning of the next stages and the removal of women from the slavery that has been exercised against them and we will try to take them to a free and prosperous life and to the beautiful life that was created by the woman first, and concluded her speech by poetry about a women and children
The little girl Shahnaz Hattab gave a set of poems, a small poet who aspires to create her own poetry library and participated with the Culture and Art Committee at the Kobanyi Children’s Festival.
