The first anniversary of the liberation of Kebash Qarbi village from ISIS
The village of Kobash Qarbi is located in the north-western part of the city of Raqqa, 37 kilometers from the city. Most of its inhabitants are engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. Its population is about 1,200 people and its land area is 3800 dunums.
“We have invaded and destroyed our village, imposed its policy and changed all our manifestations,” said an elderly man, 80-year-old Hamad al-Hassan.
“When the fighting intensified, we were displaced and we stayed for 45 days in the open, where a bridge was built by the Syrian Democratic Forces to remove the civilians trapped between the lines of fire and liberated the village one day.
Ahmed al-Hassan, a resident of the village, said that Daesh withdrew after planting mines in the village where they planted a landmine in his house. He remained until the village was liberated on 17/4/2017 and was dismantled by the Clearance teams of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
“In this past year, the signs of change seemed clear. The village was revived and most of its residents who had been abroad returned and repaired the electricity, water and infrastructure lines such as schools and clinics.
