Hasaka – The Syriac Cultural Association opened a cultural and art center in the Baghdad neighborhood in Hasaka province. The representatives of civil institutions and residents of the region participated in the opening ceremony.
The opening celebration began with a minute of silence in the memory of martyrs’ lives and then a number of speeches were delivered. Ibrahim Ibrahim, who is responsible for the Syriac Cultural Association in Syria delivered a speech and congratulated the Syriac component for opening of the center and stressed the importance of cohesion of the components of North and East Syria in order to eradicate terrorism. He also talked about the role of the center in giving the children and young people positive ideas that support their personality and know the history of their people.
After that the co-chair of the Culture and Art Committee in Hasaka province s Afaf Haski delivered a speech and congratulated all the components of North and East Syria and noted the importance of establishing several centers of culture and art to educate the youth in particular and develop their talents.
At the end, the opening ribbon was cut by the co-chair of the Culture and Art Committee in Hasaka province, and the audience toured the center to see its sections.
