Raqqa – In cooperation with the Education Committee of the Civil Council of Raqqa, the Euphrates Development Organization opened a literacy course in the western countryside of Raqqa.
The children of random camps in Al-Rasheed village, who have not had the opportunity to learn in schools because their parents were obliged to move from one place to another, benefit from the course.
The course lasts for three months and 110 male and female children attend it. They put them in classrooms after examining their information to determine their educational level.
Children are taught reading, writing, calculating, drawing, sports, etc… according to a specific literacy program. Psychological support is given to them through by involving them in different activities.
“We started a few days ago to implement the program of literacy and psychological support for children in the random camps of the western countryside of Raqqa to eradicate the illiteracy and to integrate them into society by providing psychological support to alleviate their suffering during the past years”, The director of the psychological support program in the Euphrates Development Organization, Ahmed Al-Khader said.
