Raqqa – The opening of the municipal slaughterhouse in Raqqa city after rehabilitation efforts and putting it into service aims at reducing indiscriminate slaughter throughout the city, monitoring the health status of slaughterable animals, distributing meat for consumption and maintaining environmental safety and disposal of the remnants of the process of skinning in a healthy manner for fear of the spread of epidemics and germs.
“In order to preserve the health of the citizens, we carry out the veterinary inspection and monitor the health status of the livestock before selecting and conducting the slaughter according to Islamic law. We also sell and distribute the prepared and valid meat for sale at Al Qasabah stores. We also remove the remains the slaughter. Livestock on a daily basis in a healthy manner for fear of the spread of germs and pests. The director of the slaughterhouse Khalaf Hassan said.
Al-Hassan added that before the recent rise in prices, we used to bring about 350 goats and sheep a day to slaughter, but now the percentage has fallen to 100-150 head.
Al-Hassan concluded by saying that on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, and in order to preserve the cleanliness of the city and to prevent the spread of epidemics, the Health Committee issued a circular to slaughter the sacrifice to the citizens during the Eid.
The doors of the slaughterhouse are open daily from 5 am to 11 am.
