Opening of a workshop for women in Ain Issa town
A women’s workshop entitled “Syrian Women’s Priorities” was held in the town of Ein Issa today, especially in the north and east of Syria. Many women from all walks of life participated in the event under the supervision of the Preparatory Committee.
The meeting was chaired by Lina Barakat, the general coordinator of the Syrian Women’s Council, and she first welcomed the audience and thanked them for coming from all over the Syrian governorates.
In her speech, Barakat spoke about the impact of the Syrian crisis and the regional and international war on women, especially Syrian women, and that they paid a heavy price for the displacement, imprisonment, rape, marginalization and deprivation of all their rights. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss the challenges and obstacles facing women, identify priorities and outline the projects, activities and activities that help women regain their full rights and empower women economically, politically and socially.
