Launch A Project To Clean Agricultural Drainages in “AL-Asadiya”Village

Raqqa – In coordination with Agriculture and Irrigation Committee in the “Raqqa Civil Council”, “Future Makers” organization launched a project to clean agricultural drainages in and around Al-Asadiya village.

The project includes the cleaning of 4 km of agricultural drainages. The project is divided into two stages: the first is to clean of 2 km, benefiting about 940 dunums of the area of ​​cultivated land in AL- Asadiya village. The second stage is 2 km benefiting about/1000 / Dunums of agricultural land adjacent to AL- Asadiya village in the northern countryside of Raqqa city, according to the Executive Director of the project, “Ibrahim Sheikh.”

The aim of the project is to promote agriculture after 8 years of neglect for these drainages and not to clean them due to that many problems were raised, the most important of which are (high soil moisture, soil salinity, breeding of harmful plants, transmission of schistosomiasis and malaria).

For his part, “Hassan al-Ghazi” one of the farmers in Al-Asadiya village, thanked “Future Makers” Organization and Agriculture and Irrigation Committee for their work and help them after most of their agricultural land was exposed to salinity, which has become the most damaging problem for farmers.
