Raqqa- New Horizons organization, in cooperation with Agriculture and Irrigation Committee of Raqqa Civil Council, has rehabilitated Tel AL-Sammin station in the northern countryside of Raqqa.
It is considered one of the most important projects in the northern countryside of Raqqa, because of the scarcity of water in that area and the dependence of its inhabitants on tanks to meet their needs.
The supervisor engineer of the station, “Hussein Al-Hamoud,” confirmed that the pumping station irrigates / 7/000 hectares of agricultural land, noting that it feeds all the surrounding villages, and benefit about 50/000 people.
He explained that the station consists of (6 / main engines and its capacity / 1400 / kW, and flow / 5 / m3 / sec.
It is worth to mention that the station was out of service since a year and a half, where it was 95% destroyed due to battles.
