Obstetrics Hospital in Raqqa Destination of People
Raqqa – Syria Life organization worked to restore the obstetric hospital in Raqqa on 1/1/2018, in coordination with Raqqa Civil Council, the work started since that date despite the meager resources and efforts of the staff.
The hospital staff consists of (90) workers such as doctor, a pharmacist, a nurse and workers, and there are 8 sections, which are as following:
- The section ” Gynecology ” includes cases of inspection and control of pregnancy and cases of natural delivery and Cortaj and Caesarean, and the hospital receives daily from 15 to 200 cases of inspection and control of pregnancy, and about 15 / natural birth, in addition to / 10 / to 12 / Cesarean cases.
- The “nursery” section includes a / 16 / incubator, which takes care of the newborn until it improves.
- ” Laboratory ” and performs all medical analysis, except for the case of hepatitis.
- The Mammo section has recently been opened for radiotherapy rooms, specializing in breast cancer, and is available only in this hospital, as well as a mobile radiogram for children.
- The “Ambulance” section includes one ambulance and they resort to Red Crescent for the use of their ambulances.
- The “Minor Care” section of the accommodation, which has been recently expanded, has 22 beds for women’s births and 23 for children.
- The “kitchen” section that provides meals for children and accompanying them.
- “pharmacy” department that provides the necessary drugs.
The administrative staff consists of (90) workers such as doctors, nurses, guards and employees, who are working on daily and evening shifts biases and all these services are free of charge.
Director of Human Resources “Mai Mohamed Abdel Ghani” pointed out that the hospital is currently preparing a waste incinerator, to prevent the spread of epidemic diseases, and the Holocaust will be for all the wastes of Raqqa hospitals, and noted that the site of the Holocaust, has been identified by Raqqa Civil Council.
She appealed to all international organizations and health institutions to open other similar hospitals to relieve pressure on them and help Raqqa’s people.
For her part, “Fatima Al-Omar” pregnant woman, said that the hospital relieved them from the costs of private hospitals, and expressed thanks to all who contributed to this initiative.
