Hassakeh – Women in northern and eastern Syria continue to struggle to stop oppression and arbitrary practices by organizing themselves and opening offices and councils in Democratic Self-Management that aim to have a strong voice in building a democratic Syria.
One of the councils is the Women’s Bureau of Syrian Democratic Council, which is working at full capacity to make women an active part of society.
On behalf of the Bureau, Rehab Goug, the Co-Chair, said: that they participated in many seminars, forums and dialogues that support the role of women, including attending a seminar in the center of Amara entitled “Skills of social and psychological communication”. Participation in the commemoration of the anniversary of Kobani liberation and a march (No to violence against women) and several invitations to attend forums.
The Office had organized several training and educational courses for women to raise awareness and revitalize her in society and to play an active role in society.
The office is now working in coordination with the youth of Syrian Democratic Council to organize tours within Hasakah province to raise the awareness of young women.
She concluded her speech, “Gog” and appealed to the youth and women in particular to participate in dialogues, seminars, marches and courses organized by the office, to emerge from silence and to have an echo in the political and military process that Syria is currently going through.
