The seventh turbine in the Euphrates dam begins working again

Tabqa-After repairing the seventh turbine in the Euphrates dam it began working and it took a month to repair it.This is the fourth turbine which is fully rehabilitated and repaired. The repairing workshop in the dam repaired the damaged parts, secured alternative parts for the damaged one and replaced the ends of the turbine cables to be ready for operation and connection to the electricity network.

The Euphrates dam currently generates electricity which is estimated at 250 megawatts. The administration of the dam is distributing the electricity all over Syria.

The engineer Mohammed Sheikho a member The Euphrates dam administration said that the seventh turbine in the dam has been operated after repairing it and will be connected to the network when it becomes ready, the production of electricity will increase to become 300 MW.

He continued saying “We will start repairing the turbines No. 5 and 6 at the present time until the completion of maintenance of all the Euphrates dams.
