Raqqa – The sanitation department of the People’s Municipality in Raqqa launched a project to rehabilitate sanitation network within ten days in Sariko buildings in Raqqa City after several previous projects launched by the Municipality in Al-Sinaa, Al-Rumaila and Duar Al-Sawama’a.
“After several appeals from the residents of Sariko buildings, the sanitation department of the People’s Municipality in Raqqa started this project, which serves more than 30 buildings in the area. We started to remove the rubble from the middle of the buildings and we began to press the water to check the validity of the rest of the pipes”. The supervisor of the project Asa’ad Al- Nehar said.
Al-Nahar added that the machines started work by digging the old pipes and removing the damaged ones. The workshop will supply about 30 tubes of cemented pipes that bear pressure and heat.
Mohammed al-Hussein one of the residents of Sariko buildings area talked about the suffering of the people from the completely closed sanitation network. He said, stressing that it is the first time that the municipality workshops work in the area, hoping that the work will be done as soon as possible because it will encourage the return of the people of the neighborhood again.
It worth mentioning that several ongoing projects carried out by the Department of Sanitation are continuing to include all neighborhoods of the city.
