Tabqa – Under the slogan “struggle, resist, organize and liberate yourself” The first founding conference of the Young Women’s Union in Tabqa city was held today in the center of culture and art in Tabqa.
Members and representatives of the committees and institutions of the civil administration of Tabqa city as well as delegations of women from the cities and towns of the North Syria and a number of Tabqa’s women participated in the conference. The program started with a minute of silence in the memory of martyrs’ lives.
The co-chair of the Youth and Sports body in North and East Syria, Maha Faisal, delivered a speech in which she welcomed the attendance and congratulated the young women in North and East Syria for the conference which is the beginning of a new stage and the result of organizing the young women who are aware of themselves to build society.
She added that the young woman has been able to play a leading and effective role in society through her participation in all areas of social, political, administrative and military life.
The co-chair of the Executive Council of the civil administration of Tabqa “Hind Al Ali” delivered a speech and blessed the founding conference saying: The most beautiful woman is that who reached freedom through her thought and awareness away from the patriarchal and capitalist regimes that consider women only as a commodity, a sexual tool and a machine for childbearing.
Al-Ali stressed that women now write their own histories through their struggle and organizing themselves.
The conference included discussions on the importance of the role of young women and how to free themselves from all restrictions and that the conference is the fruit and follow-up of the struggle of women fighting throughout history. In the conference a documentary about the struggle and work of young women was presented.
At the end, the draft bylaw and outcomes of the decisions of the First Conference of the Young Women’s Union in Tabqa were showed and the elections of the Board of Directors and the Department were held.
