The General Council of the Self-administration in North and East Syria approved today the law of self-defense forces and the bylaw of the self-defense office in north and east Syria.
The general Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces Mazloum Abdi, the representatives of the Self-Defense office in the north and east Syria and the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic council attended the meeting.
The Law of the Self-Defense includes the determination of the length of service in the of self-defense ranks to be 12 months.
Regarding the age of commissioning, article 13 of the law states that the age of commissioning for males begins at the age of 18 years and obliged those who did not perform the duty of self-defense to perform it until the age of forty.
Article 14 states that the birth of the persons assigned to perform the duty of self-defense shall be determined by a decision issued by the Defense Bureau in the self and civil administrations after its approval by the self-defense office in the self-administration of North and East Syria.
The General Council approved the proposal to change the name of the defense affairs office to the self-defense office in the self-administration of North and East Syria
The Council also approved the bylaw of the self-defense office by a majority vote.
