A constituent meeting of Daesh victims’ platform in north and eastern Syria

After a series of sub-meetings held earlier in Raqqa and Hasaka, the first constituent meeting of Daesh victims’ platform in north and eastern Syria was held today (Thursday) in Qamishli. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Autonomous Administration, representatives of civil society organizations, tribal dignitaries and human rights activists, as well as families of Daesh victims.
The meeting began with a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, followed by a speech by Professor Mohamed Balchi, Director of Fight for Humanity organization, who confirmed that this platform represents the voice of the victims and aims to bring the suffering of all those affected by the terrorist organization (Daesh) to international forums in order to establish fair trials for the perpetrators of these crimes.
Balchi indicated that several meetings have been held with human rights organizations working in the same field in Iraq to conduct a full survey to count the number of Daesh victims, develop a clear action plan to reintegrate them into society, and demand moral and material compensation.
During the meeting, discussions and interventions were held by participants, most of which focused on the proposed founding document of this platform and the points to be added.
The meeting concluded with the election of members of the governing body of the platform.
