A Joint Anti-ISIS Operation | An ISIS Senior Terrorist Eliminated in Deir Ezzor

On January 7, our Anti-terrorism Units (YAT), in cooperation with the International Coalition forces, conducted a joint security operation in the al-Jurzy town in Deir Ezzor, targeting an ISIS senior terrorist called Muhammed Atiyah, aka Abu Mahmoud, who was responsible for carrying out terrorist assassinations against security and military personnel in the region.
Backed by the coalition’s aerial support, our YAT units raided where the terrorist Abu Mahmoud was hiding in the al-Jurzy town in Deir Ezzor and called him for safe surrender, yet the terrorist Abu Mahmoud clashed with our forces, adamantly refusing to surrender. Our forces dealt with the situation professionally and successfully eliminated him. During the operation, weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were seized. The items confiscated include:

Our joint anti-ISIS operations will continue in the region until we completely eliminate ISIS cells, ensuring the safety and security of the region.
