Anti-ISIS Operation | An ISIS Cell Dismantled and Five Terrorists Captured in Raqqa
On the 2nd and 4th of August, our SDF’s Military Operations Teams (TOL) conducted two successful security operations targeting one of the ISIS terrorist cells in the city of Raqqa.
These operations resulted in the dismantling of the ISIS terrorist cell, the capturing of five ISIS terrorists, and the seizing of various weapons, ammunition, and military equipment.
The dismantled cell was responsible for planning attacks on fuel tankers supplying the city and targeting both our forces and civilian infrastructure. Specifically, the cell had carried out four terrorist attacks on fuel tankers on the Raqqa-Tabqa Road, resulting in the death of one driver. It had also attacked the Internal Security Forces in the Mazra’at al-Rashid market in Raqqa.
During the operation, our forces confiscated the following:
- Ak-47 rifles /2/
- Gluck pistol /1/
- Ammunition
Our SDF forces reiterate their commitment to pursuing and eliminating the remaining ISIS cells.
