Deir Ezzor Military Council Pledges Resistance and Retaliation Against Aggressions of Syria Regime

The leader of the Deir Ezzor Military Council, Turki Al-Dhari, also known as Abu Laith Khasham, issued a statement on Thursday condemning the Syrian regime attack on civilian areas east of the Euphrates River in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. The assault, which commenced at 4:00 AM, targeted the homes of unarmed civilians, resulting in the martyrdom of two individuals and injuries to numerous others, including children and women.

Al-Dhari noted that the aggression was at the orders of Hossam Luka, head of regime military intelligence, and led by Hashem Al-Sattam, leader of regime-affiliated militias in Deir Ezzor. He further accused certain individuals claiming to be tribal sheiks of collaboration in this scheme to destabilize the region. Al-Dhari emphasized that those collaborating with the Syrian regime and Iranian militias are not patriots.

The attack, perpetrated by mercenary groups, lasted for an hour, prompting a forceful response from the SDF’s Deir Ezzor Military Council. The mercenaries incurred significant casualties, overwhelming their hospitals. The targeted areas included the villages of Al-Sabha, Al-Bariha, Dhiban, Al-Shaitat, and Al-Tayana.

Regarding the infiltration of these groups, Al-Dhari stated that mercenaries and individuals who had betrayed the community facilitated the attack. He characterized all participants as drug users or dealers, highlighting the Syrian regime’s control over its militia members.

Al-Dhari vowed a resolute response from the SDF’s Deir Ezzor Military Council to any attempts to sow chaos and violence in the region. He emphasized that they would not tolerate aggression, even at the cost of their own lives. The leader announced an impending retaliatory attack targeting the origin of the attacks and reaffirmed the SDF’s commitment to regional security and stability.

Concluding his statement, Al-Dhari reiterated their capability to defend their territory and outlined plans to strengthen military positions along the Euphrates River to prevent further infiltration.
