Joint Anti-ISIS Operation | An ISIS Dangerous Leader Eliminated in Deir Ezzor

On August 22, our Counter-terrorism unit YAT conducted a targeted anti-ISIS operation with the support and participation of the Coalition forces. The operation targeted an ISIS dangerous leader called Muhammad Ahmed al-Hassan, aka Omar al-Shami who was responsible for planning and participating in the terrorist attack on the al-Sina’a Prison in al-Hasakah in January 2022.

Based on precise intelligence, our forces raided the place where the terrorist was hiding in the al-Busayrah town, Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside. The terrorist refused to answer the call for safe surrender and clashed with our forces who dealt with the situation with utmost professionalism and successfully eliminated him.
