Our SDF General Command Receives a Delegation from Sinjar/Shingal

As part of a series of ongoing meetings with various societal and political figures, and on the tenth anniversary of the Sinjar/Shingal massacre committed by ISIS terrorists against the Yazidis, our SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi, and the Commander of the Women’s Protection Units YPJ, Rohlat Afrin, along with the co-chairman of the Democratic Union Party, Saleh Muslim, received a delegation from the Sinjar/Shingal region. This delegation included Dakhil Murad Ashour, a member of the Tribal Council, and Saeed Melhem Hamo, a member of the Autonomous Administration Council in Sinjar/Shingal and the Tribal Council.

Our SDF General Command discussed with the delegation the challenges facing Sinjar/Shingal and emphasized the need to address them through dialogue with the Iraqi government. Our General Command stressed that it is Baghdad’s responsibility to listen to the demands of the people of Sinjar/Shingal and to begin the reconstruction of the region, which was devastated by ISIS, in addition to facilitating the return of displaced persons to their homes.

In response, the Sinjar/Shingal delegation expressed their gratitude for the sacrifices made by the people of Rojava and their military forces, who opened a humanitarian corridor to save the people of Sinjar/Shingal from death during the ISIS attack on Sinjar/Shingal ten years ago.

At the end of the meeting, our SDF General Command reaffirmed its readiness to provide all forms of material, moral, and political support to Sinjar/Shingal once again.
