In conjunction with the celebrations of our Assyrian-Chaldean Syriac people on Akitu Day, a delegation from the SDF led by Noroz Ahmed, a member of the SDF General Command visited the monastery of Our Lady the Virgin Mary in Tal Tamir countryside, north of al-Hasaka.
Nowruz Ahmed expressed her happiness with the efforts of the monastery’s patrons to serve the peoples of the region and protect the religious and national heritage of the Syriac people in the region, stressing the historical status of Syriac and Assyrians in Syria and northern and eastern Syria in particular.
The monastery’s patrons expressed gratitude to the SDF for liberating the area from ISIS, saving the population, and ensuring safety and stability.
